The Festival of Busselton was first held in 1964 and started by the Rotary Club of Busselton with great support from the local community. Over the years, local residents took over the organisation of the Festival and to this day continue to volunteer their time and expertise to ensure a continually evolving and relevant community experience for all!
The 2019 Act-Belong-Commit Festival of Busselton will celebrate 55 years of bringing free family events and entertainment to the southwest and the organising committee is currently hard at work behind the scenes finalising the Festival's much-loved event programme. Once complete, you will find the details for all of next year's fabulous events online right here!
If you want to be involved and would like to provide sponsorship or volunteer your time and services to help deliver the 55th Festival of Busselton, please use the form on our Contact Page and we will respond to you as soon as possible.
Welcome to the 2020... Festival of Busselton
This locally-born Festival has enjoyed outstanding longevity. The fact that it continues to be embraced with such enthusiasm is testament to the community’s genuine affection for it.
The Festival of Busselton remains as relevant today as it was over 50 years ago. Long before the region carried the mantle ‘Events Capital WA’; the Festival was delighting locals and drawing visitors. The success of the Festival of Busselton, especially during the early years, paved the way for the evolution of our now truly brilliant event calendar.
Festival time is synonymous with summer time here in the City of Busselton and the 2020 programme is packed with events and activities. Whether you’re interested in arts and crafts, sporting events or live entertainment; this year’s line-up promises something for everyone.
I especially encourage local people who may not have joined the festivities for a few years to reconnect with the Festival. It provides many opportunities for free family fun and a great excuse to come together with friends to enjoy our beautiful Geographe Bay.
Many people have volunteered their time to ensure the ongoing success of the Festival and on behalf of the community I extend my thanks to all those who have been involved over the years.
Please support the Festival of Busselton – it’s only through continued community involvement that these free family focused events can remain viable and continue to grow.
Have a safe and happy summer.
